Minimalist Ceramide Moisturizer Review For Dry Skin (Barrier Repair Cream)

Minimalist Ceramide Moisturizer have two category in creams – for dry skin and oily skin and both in 0.3% concentration. I bought the dry skin one as my skin type is normal to dry. It claims to be a barrier repair cream containing 0.3% ceramides and bisabolol. It has five types of ceramides – ceramide NP, ceramide EOP, ceramide NS, ceramide AS and ceramide AP. It would be better if they also formulates a cream with higher percentage of ceramide for those who have severely damaged skin. A ceramide moisturizer is must in your skincare routine to protect your skin from environmental damage. Before heading on to review, let’s take a glance at the benefits of main ingredients used in this cream:

Ceramide

Ceramides are lipids that occur naturally in our skin and it is crucial to maintain a healthy skin barrier function. Applying ceramide regularly can also heal damaged skin barrier.

Bisabolol

Bisabolol is mainly used for its soothing properties and it help in reducing skin inflammation. Besides, it has antioxidant properties too that maintains a youthful appearance.

Minimalist Ceramide Moisturizer Review And My Experience

Minimalist cream consistency is slightly on the thicker side. It is somewhere between lotion and balm, still it feels light on the skin compared to other dry skin creams. The cream spreads easily on the skin and gives me a sweaty feel that take some time to subside. Plus, it also makes my skin look weird after application. I guess it did not suit my skin.

After applying a serum I use this ceramide cream and it kept my skin moisturized for good 4-5 hours. However, I could not use it for too long because it makes my skin dull and also I did not find it as good as my favourite – Bioderma atoderm intensive baume when it comes to repairing skin barrier. Bioderma atoderm baume is quite heavy for summer, whereas this one is comparatively light weight on the skin.

Although, I didn’t find this minimalist cream ineffective because it did help my skin healed. Due to the excessive heat, I got a dry rough patch on my neck. I really don’t know what it was but applying this cream regularly on the affected area healed my skin completely and brought back its natural softness within 4 to 5 days of usage.

Overall Minimalist Ceramide moisturizer is definitely a lightweight moisturizer for dry skin but certainly not moisturizing enough for very dry skin. I don’t like how it feels on my skin but still it is an okay product for me due to the healing properties it carries. I’m not gonna repurchase it obviously because I would like to try other ceramide moisturizers available in the Indian market.

Suitability

It is suitable for dry to normal skin.
