Minimalist 6% Oat Extract Gentle Cleanser Review

Most of us slather our skin with different skincare actives which can result in skin sensitivity, inflammation, itchiness and redness. And we can’t even use our regular face wash over damaged skin. Well, it is the most important part of our daily cleansing routine. Gentle, non-foaming cleansers like – Cetaphil, Minimalist, Episoft are such good option available in the market for extremely sensitive skin. I have tried Cetaphil cleanser in the past which was really good for sensitive skin. And also tried this and here is Minimalist 6% Oat Extract Gentle Cleanser Review. Both are quite similar but not exactly the same as it contain 6% oat extract.

Oats are used in skincare products like body lotion, face wash, face packs, facial creams and some serums as well. Because it is helpful in treating itchiness, damaged skin barrier and exfoliates skin. Besides, oat is a natural moisturizer too.

Minimalist 6% Oat Extract Gentle Cleanser Review And My Experience

Texture and appearance –  It has a running consistency having a very smooth and slippery kind of texture.

I bought this several months ago when my skin was suffering from sensitivity because of damaged skin barrier. Since it’s non foaming cleanser I only use this in my day time skincare to gently remove dirt. I massage it over damp skin for 2 to 4 minutes and wash it off. It does take more time than regular gel based face wash. While removing the cleanser I required few strokes to get rid of it completely.

My face looks clean, refreshed and what I notice is that it does not strip off natural oil of the skin or trigger skin redness either. I continued this for a week and notice improvements like my skin sensitivity and redness has been reduced a lot. It’s so gentle on the skin. I have never used this for deep cleansing because it may not remove sunscreen, BB cream or leftover trace of makeup completely.

If you are using tretinoin, higher percentage of Glycolic Acid or having any skin treatments that makes your skin sensitive, go for this cleanser as it will prevent extra sensitivity caused due to cleansing process.

This gentle cleanser isn’t made for oily skin type and only adaptable when you need gentle cleansing.
