Fixderma Shadow SPF 80+ Sunscreen Lotion Review

Fixderma have huge range of sunscreens with different level of SPF and this one is the highest among them. I prefer using high SPF sunscreen because my skin is sensitive to sun. I had high expectations from this sunscreen but I ended up not applying on my face. Besides, I have received fixderma shadow SPF 50 cream, you can check that out too. Recently I’ve reviewed a lot of sunscreens but I’ve been testing them since a long time. Here is my review of Fixderma Shadow SPF 80+ Sunscreen Lotion.

Product Description And Claims:

Fixderma Shadow SPF 80+ Sunscreen Lotion is an excellent for broad spectrum protection against short and long wave UV rays, the main culprit responsible for long term skin damage, skin cancer, wrinkling, premature aging and darkening of the skin due to over exposure of sun.

How To Use:

Apply generously 20 minutes before going out. Reapply after 80 minutes, swimming or sweating.

Ingredients:

Packaging:

Fixderma sunscreen comes in typical tube with flip open cap attached on top. It is travel friendly and hygienic to use. You can carry it around in your bag while going out. Since it has high SPF it is good for outdoors. The design is simple with enough information and most of their sunscreen have almost same design. The tube and outer cardboard box both contain necessary product information.

Fragrance:

It has slightly strong fragrance and it smells the same as fixderma shadow SPF 50. Adding fragrance in this formulation is not needed at all. It lingers for some time, then fades away.

Fixderma Shadow SPF 80 Sunscreen Lotion Review And My Experience:

Texture And Appearance – The sunscreen has medium consistency even though it is a lotion, its not runny in consistency. Texture wise, it is soft and glides easily over skin.

I have tried this several times on my facial skin and it spreads easily. The formula is also fast absorbing, non-greasy, non-sticky and oil free. It does not add any shine or oiliness to my skin. After application, I felt an instant tightening feel and it also leaves my skin little matte. Though, it also depends on moisturizer you use beneath.

For example – if you have applied an oily moisturizer beneath, it won’t leave your skin matte. And over non-oily moisturizer it gives a matte finish.

However, I’m not happy with how it looks on my face. It always become patchy and most of the time it pills. Not only this but I’ve also experience little irritation around my eye after using this. Added to that, it also leaves a white cast which look prominent on dry skin.

Despite all its flaws, I applied this sunscreen on exposed areas like hands and feet to test out its ability to protect skin. Being a high SPF sunscreen, it provides sufficient protection for outdoors. Even though I didn’t reapply, I haven’t notice tan lines or burn.

Furthermore, it does not form any type of reaction to the skin but when skin barrier is damaged, do not apply this sunscreen because it can irritate the skin. Overall, I’m not impressed with the formula but it gives a good protection from harmful UV rays. Protection wise, it is stronger than Fixderma Shadow SPF 50 Sunscreen. You can use it on your legs and hands. Plus, this sunscreen is only recommended to fair skin tones it does give slight white cast.

Normal, combination and oily skin type.
