Aqualogica Detan Sunscreen Review: Aqualogica sunscreens are quite popular as they are available at affordable prices (on sale) and a great formulation that suit most of the skin types. This sunscreen is infused with hyaluronic acid to prevent dryness and cherry tomato and niacinamide to reduce tanning. Added to that it also contains aloe vera leaf juice, grapefruit extract, sunflower seed oil and blueberry fruit extract. I wanted to try this Aqualogica sunscreen ever since it was launched. Red colored packaging always attracts me I don’t know why? However, I have been through some reviews as well and it was positive so I decided to try. And here’s my views on Aqualogica detan sunscreen.

Packaging:
Aqualogica sunscreen comes in tall cylindrical plastic bottle along with a pump attached. I like cylindrical bottles for sunscreens and moisturizers because they can be easily carried while travelling and its hygienic too. Besides, the outer cardboard box as well as the bottle both contain necessary product information so you can throw out the outer cardboard box.
Fragrance:
This sunscreen does not have any smell because it does not contain fragrance. Though, it isn’t mentioned on the packaging rather it’s mentioned on its website.

Aqualogica Detan Sunscreen Review And My Experience:
Texture And Appearance – Aqualogica Detan Sunscreen is like medium thick lotion that spreads very easily over skin. The texture is soft and does not have any gritty or powdery feel in it. It appears like a moisturizer too.
I always apply in dots on top of the moisturizer all over my face including upper eyelids and under eye area. I like the fact that it does not irritate my eyes.
The sunscreen isn’t moisturizing on its own though, it does have skin hydrating properties as it contain hyaluronic acid. Being a normal to dry skin person, I sometimes apply sunscreen over hydrating serum and it does not feel drying at all. Additionally, it claims to be a dewy sunscreen but honestly it isn’t as dewy as Isntree sunscreen, Estee Lauder perfectionist pro, Cetaphil sunscreen or biotique sunscreen. It just gives a slightly hydrated feel without being too dewy or too matte.
It blends easily without peeling or creating any patchy residue that some sunscreen may leave. In short, it is very easy to apply and does not consume a lot of time.
The sunscreen leaves zero white cast, gives no tone up effect, plus does not make my skin look dull either. Since it does not leave white cast, it will be very well suited for every skin color. In my opinion, the formula is very balanced because it does not feel sticky or greasy on application. Also it fits over my skin perfectly without being shiny, oily or dry.
Moreover, this lightweight sunscreen can suit most of the skin types but I highly recommend this to normal and combination skin.
Protection:
I have tried this sunscreen both – indoors and outdoors. If you use strong actives that make skin sensitive you can apply this at home as well to have enough sun protection. Additionally, it will be an effective sunscreen for office, college and school going individuals. And lastly you will need frequent re-application when you are out in the sun for too long or whole day. Overall, it does provide good protection from UV rays.
Does it detan the skin?
To test out its de-tanning properties, I have tried over my hands and it does reduces them a bit but does not make a huge difference. It’s just an additional benefit of this sunscreen. If you have tanning find the best de-tanning products here.
Suitability:
Aqualogica Detan Sunscreen is best suited for normal to combination skin. Dry or extremely dry skin can use it with a good moisturizer. Furthermore, if you have oily skin you can use it in winters but avoid it during humid climate. It can also suit sensitive skin because I have never faced redness or irritation after applying it. All in all, this aqualogica sunscreen can be adaptable for most of the skin types.
