Dot & Key Ceramide and Hyaluronic Barrier Repair Cream Review

This is the Dot And Key’s most hit skincare product and it is quite popular because of its affordability and efficiency. I have seen a lot of people raving about this moisturizer on social media. So I also decided to try this out. In this post, I’ll be sharing Dot & Key Ceramide and Hyaluronic Barrier Repair Cream Review. This is going to be honest and non-sponsored review.

We all know the benefits and importance of ceramides for skin, a must have ingredient for people using skincare actives in their regular skincare routine. So many ceramide enriched moisturizers are available in the market but when it comes to dot and key, I think it’s a cost effective product. Maybe that’s the reason behind its popularity. I have tried 3-4 ceramide products recently and this one is really good considering the price.

Dot and key skin barrier repair face cream does not contain fragrance and I absolutely appreciate it. Because it’s a barrier repair product and fragrance can trigger damaged skin.

Dot & Key Ceramide and Hyaluronic Barrier Repair Cream Review And My Experience

Texture And Appearance – The moisturizer is thick and creamy in consistency having a very smooth texture. Plus, the formulation isn’t sticky or greasy and it gets absorbed into the skin without taking much time.

You can use it AM & PM, in fact it’s better to use it twice a day as it will speed up the skin barrier recovery process. Additionally, I would suggest cutting off all the actives when you are facing redness and tingling sensation. It can take few weeks to months in healing skin barrier completely.

Appearance

After application it does not make my face appear oily or dewy, though it leaves a very slight sheen which any moisturizing cream should give. Unlike other barrier creams, this does not feel too heavy but I can definitely feel I have something on my face. It isn’t airy light.

I apply this ceramide moisturizer on top of hydrating serum and it fits perfectly without giving any dry or tight feel. On the other hand, applying right after cleansing (without any serum) leaves my face feeling tight and stretched. I mostly combine it with either Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule or Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum and it doesn’t cause any piling. Once I have tried it with The Ordinary Barrier Support Serum and it pills a bit while applying. That serum peels off with most of the products.

Furthermore, this Dot And Key Ceramide Moisturizer isn’t non-comedogenic, so I will suggest avoiding this over facial oils and layering with several products as it can result in tiny bumps or even breakouts. It is lighter than my previous barrier repair cream ( Bioderma atoderm Baume ) therefore, I use it during the day time as well. At times Bioderma Atoderm Baume also causes tiny bumps and clogged pores due to its thickness. But this one does not give me clogged pores. Compared to Bioderma Atoderm Baume it takes longer to heal the skin barrier.

Overall, I liked this non-fragranced Dot And Key Ceramide Moisturizer. It can be applied with vitamin C, retinol, niacinamide, glycolic acid and salicylic acid serums as well.

Suitability

Dot and key ceramide cream is suitable for slightly dry, normal and combination skin. It may not suit oily skin and people having closed comedones. Besides, it may not be a good moisturizer during humid climate for combination skin.
