St botanica hyaluronic acid serum has citrus smell with the hint of floral and fragrance is quite similar to essential oils. I honestly like its smell because it does not feel harsh or overpowering. Also, it does not stay for too long.

St Botanica Hyaluronic Acid Serum Review And My Experience

St Botanica Hyaluronic Acid Serum has a non oily and gel based formula that does not feel sticky or greasy. I was quite surprised because I was expecting it to be a very moisturizing oil based serum but this is exact opposite of my expectation. I apply it right after cleansing my face so that I can avail maximum benefits from this. It gets absorbed instantly into the skin leaving a matte finish.

Formula is really good for oily and combination skin type because it does not feel heavy and greasy. On my dry/normal skin it does not give sufficient hydration, whereas this is hydrating enough for oily and combination skin. I do need a good moisturizer on top of it and sometimes I layer an emulsion before applying moisturizer so that my dry skin feel comfortable whole night.

It is enriched with Vitamin C, so I only use it at night before going to sleep. I would suggest avoid using this in day time because it does contain essential oils as well that may react with UV rays. With regular usage, I did notice an improvement on my skin it looks a little clearer and glowing than before. I can’t say whether it will remove dark spots or not because I don’t have dark spots currently but it does help lighten blemishes. However, improvements are not too drastic. It has been more than a month since I have been using this serum and half of the bottle is still left. Therefore, I can say it will last you 2-3 months if you use it only once a day.

Furthermore, it does not irritate my skin but do a patch test if you have sensitive skin. Also, it does not broke me out. I have tried using this with facial oil and it starts peeling off that was disgusting. It does not work well with oil based moisturizer specially when you massage, it tends to peel off very easily.

PROS

  • Travel friendly packaging
  • Give matte finish to skin
  • Non greasy and oil free formula
  • Lightweight
  • Hydrates oily and combination skin
  • No irritation
  • Does not break me out
  • Makes skin clear and glowing
  • Free of mineral oil, color, SLES and SLS
  • Contain vitamin C, E and hyaluronic acid

CONS

  • Does not give enough to hydration to dry skin
  • Does no work well with facial oil and oil base moisturizer
  • Pricey

Overall Rating: 4 / 5

Overall it is a good vitamin C, E and hyaluronic acid serum for oily and combination skin because it is light, non greasy and non oily in texture. If you have dull, lifeless, blemish prone skin it will be a good option to try. Not only that but it is also free of mineral oil, SLES, SLS and artificial color. Although, I think it is a bit overpriced for the quantity but if you want to use only one serum which contain different beneficial ingredients you can definitely go for this one.
