Minimalist L Ascorbic Acid Lip Treatment Balm Review : I had been applying petroleum jelly to moisturize my dry lips since a period of time. And my lips were turning brown, I don’t know the reason but I guess it’s because the particular lip balm doesn’t not suit my lips. To combat dark lip, I have tried few lip balm including this one. It contain L-ascorbic acid (pure vitamin C) in 8% concentration and L Ascorbic Acid is pretty well known ingredient for skin brightening and reducing pigmentation. Well, I have never seen such potent ingredient infused lip balm (mainly in India). I was very excited to try it out. And it turned out as my holy grail lip balm.

Minimalist L Ascorbic Acid Lip Treatment Balm Review And My Experience

The lip balm appears almost similar to petroleum jelly but the texture is a bit sticky compared to petroleum jelly. However, it doesn’t feel uncomfortable. Make sure its not oxidized (turned yellow) when you receive because it contain L-ascorbic acid which is the purest form of vitamin C and it is quite sensitive to air and light that causes early degradation. Therefore, you should finish this lip balm as soon as you can by using it every single day. For me it lasted for two and half months without oxidizing. Beside, I started noticing a change in my lip color after one month of regular usage of this lip balm.

I applied this lip balm every night and most of the time during the day as well. But on top of that, I also apply Sebamed SPF 30 lip balm. Minimalist lip balm is really great when it comes to moisturizing your lips, it really kept my lips hydrated and moisturized all day and night. I rarely need reapplication and in fact it is more moisturizing than petroleum jelly. Minimalist lip balm leaves a glossy kind of finish, though it sticks to the place and does not spread much which I really appreciate.

Does Minimalist L Ascorbic Acid Lip Treatment Balm Lighten Lips?

Yes! It does lighten the tanning and pigmentation on my lips. After using it regularly, I have seen a good difference in color of my lips. It removes the darkness and my lip turned to its natural dark pink color. Plus, it also gives a natural sheen to my lips and heal dryness. I really like this lip balm.

Though, it contain L-ascorbic acid, you should avoid if you are allergic to this ingredient. Although, I have never faced any peeling issue around lips or any painful irritation due to this lip balm. I would recommend using it during night and avoid when you are going out. Added to that, don’t forget applying a lip sunscreen every day and you’ll get to see good results.

What Is L-ascorbic acid for skin

L-ascorbic acid, also known as vitamin C, has gained significant attention in the skincare industry for its numerous benefits and positive effects on the skin. One of the main reasons L-ascorbic acid is employed in cosmeceutical production is because it contains bioactive vitamin C. This bioactive form of vitamin C, L-ascorbic acid, is most well-known for its ability to improve the appearance and health of the skin.

How does L-ascorbic acid work ?

L-ascorbic acid works in several ways to benefit the skin. Firstly, L-ascorbic acid is a powerful antioxidant that helps neutralize free radicals in the skin. Free radicals are unstable molecules that can damage cells and contribute to skin aging. By neutralizing free radicals, L-ascorbic acid helps protect the skin from oxidative stress and reduces the signs of aging such as wrinkles and fine lines.

L-ascorbic acid for pigmentation

It is widely used in cosmetic products and is an effective treatment for pigmentation, melasma and dark spots. In addition to its antioxidant properties, L-ascorbic acid also has a significant impact on pigmentation. L-ascorbic acid interferes with pigment production at various oxidative steps of melanin synthesis. It has ability to inhibit the oxidation of 5,6-dihydroxyindole, which is involved in melanin synthesis. This means that L-ascorbic acid can help lighten hyperpigmentation and even out skin tone.
