I bought this sunscreen a year ago and finished this recently. This sunscreen is oil free and claims to give matte finish, controls oil with SPF 50. It is a dupe of lotus herbal ultra matte gel SPF 50 and works flawlessly for oily/combination skin. Still, it is so underrated product. I have been using this on and off and here is my opinion about Biotique Sunflower Matte Gel Sunscreen.

Price: INR 295 for 50ml, INR 440 for 100ml

Packaging

Biotique Bio Sunflower Matte Gel Sunscreen comes in an orange colored glossy tube which is very soft and mushy. However, the cap it has is quiet sturdy and shuts pretty well which prevents further leakage. The tube is easy to carry around and you can buy smaller pack for traveling purpose, in case you find it heavy.

It bears all the details (except complete ingredient list) regarding the product which you can find on back of the tube.

Fragrance

It has a quite fresh herbal and floral mix kind of smell and it stays for some time of application. However, I did not find it overpowering rather it feels soothing.

Biotique Sunflower Matte Gel Sunscreen Review And My Experience

Biotique Sunflower Matte Gel Sunscreen is white colored and almost transparent, it spreads easily and gets absorbed instantly with light massage without any hassle. Also on application it feels soothing as claimed and give cooling effect as well. The formulation is completely oil free, non sticky and gives matte finish to my skin. Being a gel based sunscreen, it does not leave white cast or any patchy residue behind.

However, it is non water resistant, so won’t be able to survive when you sweat a lot but you can set it using a compact powder to prevent the melting process. If you live in an area where the weather is too humid, this sunscreen will work perfectly for you as it controls the oil as well.

But the biggest problem with this kind of gel formulation is that, they peel off quite easily after one or two hours of application and same happened with this sunscreen. But if you avoid touching your face, it will not feel off.

My skin type is normal but during monsoon it becomes a little oily, so I prefer using gel based sunscreen and I quite enjoyed this product. My favorite thing about this sunscreen is that, it does not broke me out and despite of that it works well with both gel and cream based moisturizers.

Biotique Sunflower Sunscreen 10

Most of the sunscreens tend to break me out when used with cream based moisturizer but this one isn’t. Also, it does not clog pores and will be suitable for acne prone skin as well. I have never experienced any breakouts or irritation due to this sun shield. I think it’s a great lightweight, oil free option of sunscreen for summers and humid weather.

Now coming to the most important thing -protection, Biotique ultra matte gel contains high SPF 50 with PA+++ which prevents skin tanning very nicely for two hours. However, you have to keep re-applying frequently after every two hours, so that you can get maximum protection. This gel based sunscreen is quite easy to reapply as it does not look patchy or ashy.

Overall Rating: 4 / 5

Overall I really like biotique bio sunflower matte gel sun shield because it protects my skin without giving breakouts. It feels light and leaves no residue on skin. I would highly recommend this to oily and combination skin type. But there are two things to consider – avoid this sunscreen if you have dry skin because, it will make your skin more dry and stretchy too.

Another thing is, it contains fragrance so if you are into fragrance free skin care, you may not like it.

Will I repurchase Biotique Bio Sunflower Matte Gel Sunscreen ?

Not really! Because I have got a long list sunscreen to try out.
