Minimalist AHA BHA Peel Review: Today’s post will be about minimalist AHA BHA peel review. Lot of people are bashing this brand because it is almost a copy of brand the ordinary even packaging is quite similar to them but honestly it doesn’t really matters to me until or unless product is working good for me. The fact is, I am so happy indeed that something like the ordinary is launched in India at such affordable price. The ordinary is available in India but at a very high price. But, originally, the ordinary products are affordable and is active ingredient based.
I would say this brand is a dupe of the ordinary rather than a copy of it. Another great thing about the brand is, it is free of fragrance, parabens, essential oils, silicones, dyes and sulfates. Also, they use aloe vera juice instead of water in their formulation which is really great and I appreciate it.
Anyway, let’s get into the details.

A brief note on its main ingredients:
- Contains 25% AHA
( Glycolic acid, lactic acid and mandelic acid)
It dissolves all the dead skin found in upper layer of skin. This also helps reveal a brighter and even tone skin.
- Contains 2% BHA
( Salicylic acid )
It unclog pores by breaking bonds caused by dead skin cells and clears out skin debris and excess oils. Moreover, it is one of the best ingredient to reduce blackheads and whiteheads.
- Contains 5% PHA
( gluconolactone )
PHA works as an exfoliant but it also acts as humectant due to its large molecular size. It is known to cause lesser irritation.
How To Use
Use it in the evening or night, once in a week. Apply thick layer to cleansed, dry skin avoiding eye area and leave for 10 minutes before rinsing off using lukewarm water. Increase to twice per week if your skin can tolerate it. Use sunscreen of SPF 30 or above is a must when using this peel.
Ingredients
Packaging
It comes in frosty glass bottle with a dropper attached and all the details are mention on back of the bottle. Packaging is hygienic but a little heavy therefore, some may not like to travel with it. Also, it does not leak but still I don’t think I would carry it anywhere because I’m afraid that it would break from the top. Moreover, it has an outer cardboard box in which all the product related details are mentioned. Overall packaging is good but it would be better if it comes in dark brown bottle.
Fragrance
It is free of fragrance which is amazing and I really admire it. But if you sniff directly from the bottle you will notice and extremely mild smell of chemical which is obvious because this is a chemical exfoliator. However it is not annoying at all.
Minimalist AHA BHA Peel Review And My Experience
Minimalist AHA BHA peeling gel is mustard yellow colored and is gluey and gel based that spreads easily over my skin. As per directions I use it over well cleansed and pat dried skin avoiding my eye area. On first application, it gives me a slight itchy sensation on my left cheeks that lasts for 10 to 20 seconds. I was a bit scared because my skin is pretty insensitive. However, it did not cause any serious irritation like redness, burn or any other problem. I did not feel such sensation on second or third application.
I leave it for 10 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water. It gets washed off very easily without taking much time or leaving any residue. I really amazed with the results, my skin looks absolutely clean and shiny like glass skin. Furthermore, it does not make my skin too dry but if you don’t apply moisturizer immediately your skin will become stretchy and dull. That is why I prefer using serum and moisturizer right after washing or exfoliating skin.
Moreover, my skin felt soft, smooth and less bumpy in just single use. I do have a decent amount of blackheads on my nose and bumps on forehead as well as on nose and cheeks area that was so embarrassing because I always had a clear skin. Fortunately, this peeling gel does wonders to my skin. I use it at night and next day in the morning I have noticed, it removes up to 70% of tiny bumps in just single use. Although, it does not do much for my blackheads but I have definitely seen reduction on blackhead after 3 to 4 usage of this product.
This product is suitable for people having slightly dry, normal, combination and oily skin. For sensitive skin, I don’t know how it will gonna perform. So doing a patch test is mandatory. On my normal skin it does not react at all.

I use it only once in a week and this is enough for me. However, if you use makeup on daily basis you can exfoliate your skin twice a week with this but make sure to wear sunscreen everyday having SPF 50 in it. Some people may find it a little pricey but compare to other chemical exfoliator it is affordable and does its job nicely.
