Today I’ll be sharing Lotus Herbals UV Screen Matte Gel Sunscreen Review. This sunscreen has owned the market since a really long time and once it was one of the most popular sunscreen in India. I tried and finished the product already but I want to share my thoughts too, even though a lot of people had reviewed this already. Gel sunscreen comes with SPF 50 PA+++ and claims to control oil, soothe skin and give matte look while protecting your skin.

Lotus Herbals UV Screen Matte Gel Sunscreen And My Experience
Lotus Herbals UV Screen Matte Gel Sunscreen has white gel appearance and it feels quite soothing on application. Due to the gel texture it glides easily over skin and gets absorbed quickly too. Formula is absolutely perfect for oily and combination skin type. Whereas, this might make dry skin, even more drier. Over my normal skin, it becomes matte and after 2-3 hours my skin felt dry and stretchy. Therefore, I combine this with moisturizer and it does not feel that dry but it was matte. It has no moisturizing properties. Hence, you can apply a separate moisturizer underneath. Because using this sunscreen directly can make your skin dry (if you have slightly dry or dry skin type). Moreover, it feels light so you don’t have to worry about heaviness.
I have worn this sunscreen to a very hot summer trip. My skin keeps sweating but keep reapplying it again and again for maximum protection. During that trip, my skin did not get burnt but it was tanned.
Since it is not a quite strong sunscreen, it failed to prevent sun tan. Even if you keep reapplying it regularly, this won’t protect you from extremely harsh sun rays.

However, you can use this in your day to day life like when you are staying at home, going to office, school or college. But I would never recommend this for vacation or long day outing. Furthermore, this sunscreen does not cause breakout, bumps or any skin irritation issues. Additionally, I feel it does not clog pores.
PROS
- Affordable
- Non greasy and non sticky feel
- Oil free
- Matte finish
- Best suited for oily and combination skin
- Soothes skin
- Easy application
- Travel friendly
CONS
- Gives a stretch feel to dry skin types

Overall Rating: 3.5 / 5
Overall Lotus Herbals UV Screen Matte Gel Sunscreen was just an average product for me. Because it was little too mattifying for my skin. But I would recommend this sunscreen to oily and combination skin.
