IPCA Acne UV Gel SPF 50 PA+++ Review And My Experience
IPCA Acne UV Gel is a silicone-based sunscreen having a thick consistency. Texture is quite smooth that glides easily over moisturized skin. On the other hand, it becomes little flakey when applied directly over dry skin. But the best part is, it has no chunky particles in it. This sunscreen is easy to apply and it settles down quickly. It gives a smooth-matte finish same as primer but it doesn’t remain for too long (specially during humid climate). Additionally sunscreen leaves no white cast on the skin, hence it will be suitable for all skin colors.
In my opinion, formula is good for normal, combinations skin and people with oily skin would need a compact to get matte finish. Currently, I am using it every morning along with Bioderma atoderm lotion which is quite hydrating and moisturizing in nature. In such humid climate, atoderm lotion make my skin little sticky but I still use it because other moisturizer does not work as good as this one for me. However, acne UV gel does not contribute extra oil neither it controls oil production. Therefore, this sunscreen will be adaptable for most of the skin types. You just have to use it in correct way. If you have oily skin use it over an oil-free moisturizer. Whereas, dry skin people should use a moisturizer which is hydrating enough in nature. However, avoid this sunscreen layering over several products as it can cause slight peeling.
Now, when it comes to wear it under makeup. I am not sure how it will go under heavy makeup. But, I have used it under BB cream so many times and it goes really well. Make sure you apply BB/CC cream after 15 to 20 minutes of sunscreen application. Furthermore, sunscreen protect skin from sun damage. You can include this in your everyday routine when you are at home or going to office, school or college. But it cannot survive extremely harsh sun rays for two long. Specially when you are out on the beach, you’ll need several applications of this sunscreen for a good protection. I would suggest wearing a hat for extra protection.
Overall, I’m happy with IPCA Acne UV Gel SPF 50 PA+++, it is lightweight, water-resistant and non-comedogenic too. But one thing you have to keep in mind is, to remove this sunscreen properly at night. Because afterall it is silicone-based and gives primer like effect (little bit) on the skin, so double cleansing is must to prevent the formation of tiny bumps.
