Fixderma Shadow SPF 50+ Cream Review

I received this small sized Fixderma Shadow SPF 50+ Cream along with Fixderma skarfix-TX cream. I am always up for trying new sunscreens. Fixderma shadow sunscreens (SPF 30 and 50) are quite popular especially SPF 30 which works great for oily-combination skin types. This is a hybrid sunscreen that means it contains both – physical and chemical filters. Today I’ll be sharing Fixderma Shadow SPF 50+ Cream review after trying it for several times on my face as well as body. Now let’s move ahead to the review.

Product Description And Claims

Fixderma Shadow Cream SPF 50+ Cream protects the skin from the harmful effects of sun rays. It contains UV filters such as – Avobenzone, which protects the skin from severe sunburns and melanoma by absorbing UV rays and helping to protect healthy skin cells and collagen. It also contains Sulisobenzone, which protects the skin from sun damage by filtering out both UVA and UVB radiation.

Packaging

It comes in typical tube packaging along with screw on cap. Again I don’t like screw on caps. It has a tiny nozzle which dispense perfect amount of sunscreen. Therefore, I have no issue with it. The tube is leak proof and travel friendly. You can find product details on the back of tube.

Fragrance

If you dislike having fragrance in your sunscreen, simply skip this product. Because it possesses a strong smell. The sunscreen has floral smell which remind me of ‘navratan oil’. However, smell fades away after some time.

Fixderma Shadow SPF 50+ Cream Review And My Experience

The sunscreen is very smooth in texture having a medium thick consistency which glides easily over my skin. I blend it properly and while applying it does not cause pilling. The sunscreen dries down quickly without giving oily, greasy or sticky residue. It leaves a soft-matte finish, it’s not one of those dewy sunscreens. Therefore, it can suit oily and combination skin as well especially during winters. Another plus point is, it does not leave a white cast behind. But I noticed a very slight tone up effect. Besides I like the fact that it does not make my skin appear dull.

Appearance

Additionally, this sunscreen does not feel heavy on application. If you have dry skin use it with a good moisturizing cream, whereas people with oily skin can skip moisturizer while using this. Lastly, normal and combination skin can apply their regular moisturizer beneath.

It’s a good sunscreen for daily use. U can apply when you are going out for school, college, office or anything else. However, I don’t think it’s a heavy duty sunscreen. Because when I skip re-application, it does causes little bit of tanning (on my hands). Though, it is easy to reapply on body but when it comes to facial skin, I don’t think it is very easy to work with. I prefer strong sunblock for my face when I’m going out because I develop redness on my cheek easily. Honestly, I couldn’t reapply any sunscreen on my face because most of the time it becomes patchy and causes pilling.

If your skin is highly sensitive to sun. And in case you are using tretinoin, strong exfoliating products or taking chemical peel treatments, apply this sunscreen at home. Normal and non-sensitive skin can apply outdoors.

Being a cream based sunscreen, this product isn’t very oily, heavy or moisturizing makes it suitable for indian climate.
