Emolene Cream Review | Suitability | Ingredients | PROS | CONS

It is a very popular pharmacy cream which is usually recommended by dermatologists. This cream is used to treat dry, rough, irritated, itchy skin and also prevent such conditions. However, some people can also experience side effects as a result of skin redness, irritation and skin burning if reacted to any ingredient used in this formulation. However, I personally like this cream a lot. At this price point it is a really good moisturizer in my opinion. A good moisturizer is required in every season and being a treatment cream for dry skin it perfectly fulfills the required moisture to the skin (in summer) for which it contains propylene glycol and diazolidinyl urea as the main ingredient.

Packaging

Emolene Cream comes in a typical tin tube along with a screw on cap covered with an outer cardboard box that contains all the product details. It is travel friendly and personally I like the packaging as well.

Fragrance

It does not have any added fragrance to it. But while applying the cream I have noticed an extremely light smell that comes naturally from the ingredients it has. Although, it is hardly noticeable after that tinge of seconds.

Texture And Appearance

The cream looks like a gel cream formulation. It isn’t creamy like other dry skin creams. Emolene cream feels very soft and glides on very smoothly over skin and also it turns little watery while applying.

Emolene Cream Review And My Experience

I started using this moisturizer when I had a lot of tiny bumps all over my face caused due to allergic reaction. My facial skin reacted to a snail mucin product. Although, it wasn’t severe but none of the product seems to working on my face, it was dull and filled with a lot of tiny bumps. I didn’t go to the dermatologist because a few products healed my skin completely and brought back my natural healthy skin.

Swatch

After cleansing my face, I apply Innisfree green tea seed serum and emolene cream. With serum it initially looks glossy as it takes little extra time to sink in. But once it gets absorbed completely it looks very natural on the skin with no glossy sheen or any oiliness. On the other hand when I apply directly, right after cleaning the skin it leaves a matte finish with hydrated feel.

Moreover, it is marketed as dry skin treatment cream but honestly it is not moisturizing enough for people with very dry, cracked or dry-damaged skin as they might required frequent reapplication.

Let me tell you that I have normal to dry skin but sometimes (mostly during winter) it becomes extremely dry. I really enjoyed this cream during monsoon and it became one of my favourite products but I will avoid it in winter or during any dry weather. My favourite moisturizer changes according to different seasons and skin conditions. Like when my skin is extremely dry I like to use – Bioderma Atoderm Ultra Nourishing Cream. For dry-damaged skin I love using – Bioderma Atoderm Baume. Likewise, this Emolene cream worked perfectly for my normal-dry skin during summer and monsoon. Because it is very lightweight, non sticky, non greasy yet moisturizing enough.

I am glad that it has helped me in recovering from those tiny bumps, though I’m not sure if the cream is made for such skin conditions but it worked for me. Therefore, I like this. Additionally, this lightweight cream has never irritated my skin or caused any negative impact.

Emolene cream can suit dry to normal skin people during summer and normal to combination skin person can apply this in winter.
