In this post I will share nivea body milk shea smooth body lotion review. I fall in love with shea butter enriched products after using dove shea pampering body lotion. I wanted to try other body lotions containing shea butter as main ingredient and I found this one which is affordable too. Shea butter has moisturizing and skin softening properties that improve the appearance of our skin.
I purchase this several months ago (in summers) and finished it up recently. So let’s move ahead to know how it works on my skin.
Price: INR 375 for 400ml, INR 275 for 200ml
Product Description
The Nivea body milk shea smooth body lotion is infused with the Nivea deep moisture serum and precious shea butter. it absorbs into your skin for deep moisture, leaving it silky smooth for 48 hours after just one application.
Packaging
It comes in a sturdy blue color plastic bottle with a pump attached on top that can be open and close with a twist. Pump bottle is quite easy to use as it creates no mess and is hygienic as well. Bottle is opaque therefore you cannot check how much amount is left inside. This (400ml) pack is not convenient to carry while travelling but you can buy the smaller one for travelling purpose.
Fragrance
It has a floral smell which is neither too strong nor too mild. I like floral smell but its fragrance is a little odd that’s why I am not a big fan of it. The smell lingers for some time after application but did not give me any headache, so I am ok with it.
Nivea Body Milk Shea Smooth Body Lotion Review And My Experience
Nivea body milk shea smooth body lotion is medium thick and not runny in consistency. It spreads easily and takes a little bit of time to get absorbed completely into the skin. Also, it leaves a slight Sheen on the skin. This body milk contain shea butter that makes it rich textured. Although, it is not heavy for winters but in summer you may feel a layer on your skin for quite some time after application.
It works best when use over damp skin, right after taking shower as it gets absorbed without leaving any residue behind. Contrarily, when I use it over dry skin it acts differently. It feels little oily and does not sinks in easily. However, this is non greasy in texture so it won’t be too problematic.
My skin felt instantly moisturized and once it absorbs completely my skin felt even more softer and smoother and this is something I want from my body lotion.
Nivea body milk shea smooth body lotion claims to provide 48 hour moisture which is not really true. I would have agreed if it says 24 hours but for 48 hours it does not work at all. On my dry skin, it work for 7-8 hours, for my normal skin (during summer) it gives approximately 24 hours moisture.
Furthermore, if you have extremely dry skin you may need reapplication too frequently. With regular use of it my skin condition gets improved as it feels less drier than before.
PROS
- Inexpensive
- Available in different sizes
- Moisturize skin immediately
- Non greasy

- Improve skin condition a bit
CONS
- Does not give 48 hour moisture

- Not moisturizing enough for very dry skin
Overall Rating: 3.6/5
Overall nivea body milk shea smooth body lotion is nice body milk for dry skin in winters. It moisturizes and makes skin soft and smooth without being greasy. But sometimes, it is not moisturizing enough for very skin.
