Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydrating Shampoo Review: Today I will be reviewing Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydrating Shampoo. After I finished Matrix smoothproof shampoo, I gave this matrix ultra hydrating shampoo a chance. This shampoo is made for very dry hair. My hair is not very dry in nature but it does need hydrating products to remain healthy and nice. So I made a move and purchase one for myself. It has been quite some time since I am using this and it is right time to share my thoughts about it.
Price: INR 215 for 200ml, INR 400 for 400ml
Shelf life: 3 years

Apart from this, information and details about shampoo is mentioned on the bottle itself. Overall packaging is nice and travel friendly but it is a little heavy.

It has moderate floral smell which stays for quite some time on hair. This fragrance give pleasant refreshing feel for whole day. Although, it is not overpowering, so there is less chance of giving headache.
Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydrating Shampoo Review And My Experience
The shampoo is off white and runny in consistency that makes it easy to spread. Being a hydrating shampoo, it is not very creamy and foams up really well to cleanse out any oil, dirt and sweat from hair. I like the thing that it does not make my scalp oily as frequently as other hydrating/ moisturizing shampoo does.
For each usage, I need about two big coin size amount for my medium length hair. I have tried it over both, oiled and unoiled hair and only a single wash is enough to get rid of oil residues. At first, I thought it would not be able to remove oil in one wash. Therefore, I used it twice and it left my hair really dry at that time. I would suggest use this only once at a time.
As for the hydrating effects, my hair does not feel or look hydrated the day I washed it. But on the next day it looks shiny and smooth which remains for 2 days. Though, it is not very hydrating still it is good because it doesn’t dry out hair. And also my hair feels fresh for longer. Moreover, this works well over unoiled hair but it is not very hydrating on its own. So, you can combine hair oil, conditioner or hair mask along with this to achieve nourished and shiny hair. Furthermore, it doesn’t tame frizzy and tangle hair. Personally for me, matrix biolage smoothproof shampoo works better than this. So I will stick to that.
PROS
- Cleanse hair effectively
- Lathers up really well
- Keep hair fresh for few days
- Inexpensive
- Paraben free
CONS
- Contain SLS
- Has no such hydrating effects
Overall Rating: 3.5 / 5
Overall Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydrating Shampoo is an average product for me. It cleanse hair effectively but does not feel very hydrating. Moreover, I don’t think the shampoo will be hydrating enough for dry/ very dry hair. It contain SLS which is a big downside for me. So I don’t think I will ever repurchase it.
